Summer School/Camp/Tutoring 2012
Although summer is months away, the planning for the Accelerated Schools' summer programs is completed. Once again the school will offer individualized high school credit classes in math, science, English, Spanish, social studies, health and art. All courses are accredited by the State of Kansas. Students must attend three weeks (60) hours per one-half credit. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. Students can earn up to 1 1/2 credits during the summer.
Lower and middle school students can attend Summer Camp where they spend part of the morning focusing on individualized academic tutoring and part time in creative classes such as art and digital photography. The lower school students (grades 1 to 3) attend from 9 to 11:15 am. Middle school students (grades 4 to 8) attend from 9 am to 1 pm.
Along with high school summer school and summer camp programs, the Accelerated Schools also offers tutoring for students in grades 1 through 12. Students can come between 9 am and 1 pm or from 4 to 6 pm. Students, who come in for tutoring, must spend at least one hour a day, three days a week for as much time as is determined at the time of enrollment.
Summer programs will be held from June 4 through August 10, 2012. Students can start at any time during the summer. Weeks do not have to be consecutive.
